Job Function: Principal Consultant - Project Manager
Reports To: Project Management Delivery Center Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt

We are currently seeking a Principal Consultant - Project Manager to join our team in Princeton, New Jersey. The Project Manager is a consulting leader who is responsible for managing and guiding the team during client projects. This person is responsible to plan, execute, and finalize the project according to the scope, timeline and budget. The Project Manager maintains the relationship between the client and msg global and oversees the day-to-day operations of the project until completion. This includes managing resources and coordinating efforts of all team members in order to deliver tasks according to project plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives, communicate status with the stakeholders and oversee the quality control throughout its life cycle. Duties are usually performed at a customer site.


Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals
  • Develop and manage project plans to ensure task execution and dependency coordination, and to anticipate and proactively address potential schedule and resource risks
  • Continually build and manage relationships between the client and all stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate project status to key stakeholders and develop presentations and updates for management as needed
  • Develop and manage project budgets to ensure accurate and timely expense reporting, and to anticipate and proactively address budget over/under spend
  • Identify, track, and follow issues through to resolution
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and project costs
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the Project Management Methodology and supporting processes and procedures to strengthen the overall project execution

 


Minimum Job Requirements


Education/Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or Project Management a plus)
  • Minimum 10 years of SAP project management experience
  • Demonstrated IT Project PM experience managing teams of 6 or more resources
  • Project Management Certification preferred but not required with demonstrated equivalent experience

 

Skills/Knowledge/Competencies


  • Practical understanding & demonstrated experience with SAP’s ASAP methodology (waterfall and/or agile)
  • Strong knowledge and background of Insurance (P&C)/Reinsurance industries
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Project)
  • The passion and drive to be part of a continuously growing business are essential
  • Ability to adapt behavior and approaches to reflect lessons learned on a project
  • Demonstrates aptitude for learning, especially related to business/functional knowledge, in a fast paced environment
  • Professional presentation and leadership skills to instill confidence of current and future clients in msg products and solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy
  • Capability to work well under pressure, in particular under cost and time constraints
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments, adjust direction and priorities within fast paced and multi-faceted work environment through strong organization, time, detail and process management orientation
  • Excellent problem solver, with demonstrated integrated thinking and learning acumen to apply past experience and knowledge to resolve any issues and complaints effectively
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Passion for extraordinary customer service and work with people at all career levels

Travel


  • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected for training and/or other business purposes

 


Working Conditions


  • Fast paced work environment; flexibility in working schedules may be required due to changing business demands
  • The standard work environment is general office conditions (standing, sitting, walking)
  • Remote work may be possible based on client requirements.
