Banking Solutions Senior Business Analyst

The primary function of this role is to support the Lead Solution Architect and domain expert on software implementation project(s) for our banking and financial clients. As Banking Solutions Senior Business Analyst, this role will interface with the client (both Business and IT) in designing and delivering high-quality transaction banking solutions. This role will also interface with msg’s alliance partners. This position must exhibit domain knowledge while participating in architectural requirement gathering sessions with customers; including integrations, data mapping, and NFRs. This individual will also support client demos, ensuring client is satisfied with system configuration over each phase of an implementation. Lastly, this role will share domain product and process knowledge with msg staff and alliance partners.

The Banking Solutions Senior Business Analyst will support the oversite of one or more implementation projects, coordinate with project team members, both onsite and offshore, to ensure consistency with the designs, and provide regular status updates to the Lead Banking Solutions Architect.

 

Specific responsibilities include although are not limited to the following:

Consulting/Solutioning

  • Serve as trusted advisor with key client, stakeholders and msg team by providing recommendations regarding architecture, design, technology and operational implementation options
  • Learn client organizational strategy and infrastructure to support the appropriate information systems solution(s)
  • Interpret business process requirements and map current and future state business processes
  • Apply Banking product and process knowledge to create effective solution designs within the capabilities of our clients’ solution(s)
  • Work with the other Business Analysts to ensure the overall client solution is aligned with the architecture approach
  • Support in designing, specifying and selecting information system solutions, considering functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure and performance
  • Apply strong, current functional knowledge of solutions to drive and support project implementation and business process design
  • Develop plans to address functional gaps between the solution and the redesigned processes

Project Management

  • Support or lead the planning and delivery of banking and financial solutions engagement
  • Provide oversight management as needed to business analysts, developers, and other team members and escalate issues and risks to Banking Solutions Lead Architect to mitigate risks during project implementations
  • Ensure industry, msg global, SAP, and alternative software solutions best practices are followed
  • Support cost/benefit analysis which includes cost estimation to prepare business cases for solutions, considering infrastructure, licenses, development and support
  • Work with customer and alliance partner, Project Managers and Business Analysts to develop high level project schedule resource plans for implementation projects
  • Provide, support and training to other staff within msg global

BusinessDevelopment

  • Support proposal solutioning efforts to ensure alignment with client, functional, and non-functional requirements and expectations by reviewing estimates, SOWs, team responsibilities, timelines, and commitments to safeguard implementation costs and schedule
  • Support POCs through guidance from Lead Banking Solutions Architect to support sales and delivery process
  • Support expansion of opportunity pipeline through solution focused discussions with clients to leverage solutions to optimize, enhance or change maturing technologies
  • Support system Use Case development for demo’s and POC’S by articulating business requirements to on and off-shore technical resources in order to configure system
  • Become familiar with IT solution platform features and functions through internal msg training in order to support POC’s, Use Cases and demo’s
  • Create and expand opportunity pipeline through solution focused discussions with clients to leverage solutions to optimize, enhance or change maturing technologies 

Other Functions

  • Completes any additional assignments as requested by the management staff
  • Serve as a SME to the Global Services Community

 

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education/Experience

  • 4-year college degree in Finance, accounting, economics or business management required; technology or related business field preferred
  • 6 + years of hands-on experience in a business analyst role in a major bank (SAP based architecture, design and development preferred but not required)
  • 6+ years in a change delivery or project management role in the banking/financial industries, preferably for a major SAP consultancy or system integrator
  • Participation in at least 3 end to end engagements (minimum of one long term engagement and experience on multiple projects)
  • Experience supporting 1 or more business functions, preferably cost allocations, profitability analysis, forecasting & planning, funds transfer pricing, risk modeling and stress testing, or regulatory reporting
  • Strong understanding of finance, accounting and investment products
  • CPA, CFA, or MBA is a plus

  • Experienced in project management with excellent follow through skills
  • Professional consulting skills with ability to quickly grasp big picture and key integration points within IT architecture
  • Culturally astute and sensitive, while being able to confidently ask the right questions
  • Understanding of client strategy and ability to design information systems to deliver that strategy effectively
  • Results oriented with ability to produce products that deliver business benefit while increasing msg profits
  • Team player with experience leading and collaborating cross-teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to sense and respond to customer demand
  • Experience in overall system design and implementation
  • Broad understanding of SAP’s value proposition and technical roadmap (HANA, cloud, etc.)
  • Must have positive work ethic, attention to detail, strong initiative and be reliable
  • Ability to work independently and with a team, including team(s) of diversely skilled employees
  • Understand implications of all aspects of each system, from a business, functional and technical point of view
  • Full working knowledge of up-to-date technologies relevant to business type & project demands
  • Adjust direction and priorities within a fast paced and multi-faceted work environment
  • Proven ability managing multiple priorities; strong organization, time, detail and process management orientation
  • Strong communication skills - oral, written, listening and presentation with and between multiple audience types
  • Ability to interact , explain technical concepts, articulate solution and strategy to all levels of business constituents, team members, management, and board level stakeholders, regardless of experience level
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to gather and assimilate complex information in order to provide insight and guidance effectively
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with critical deadlines
  • Ability to think ahead and anticipate problems, issues and solutions - demonstrates strong conceptual, outside-the-box problem solving skills

Travel

  • 80-100% travel required for training and/or other business purposes
